Research from Lithuanian team on "Šiandien Plotas"

This research looks into "Šiandien Plotas," a NGO that encourages people to take part in sports festivals. Based in Ukmergė, Lithuania, the organization invites locals and visitors to enjoy different sports activities. They welcome everyone, no matter their age, gender, or abilities.

A team from the Youth Leisure Center (JLC) interviewed the group's director and also participated in some of their events.

"Šiandien Plotas" was founded in 2015 by a group of 16-year-old friends. They wanted to bring people in Ukmergė together through sports. Since then, the group has grown, attracting participants from Ukmergė and other areas. Their festivals offer many sports activities, including football, beach volleyball, climbing, basketball, and trampoline tournaments.

The main goal of "Šiandien Plotas" is to get everyone involved in sports, regardless of who they are. The organization believes that sports can unite people, improve their physical and mental health, and build community connections. By offering a variety of activities, they ensure that everyone can find something to enjoy.

A group of young people from the Youth Leisure Center (JLC) became involved with "Šiandien Plotas" to learn more about the group. Before one of the festivals, they interviewed the organization's director to understand how it was started. Afterward, the JLC team joined in the volleyball and trampoline events.
